I'm attending an event this weekend (a music festival) and I do not want to "dress up" but I want to wear a dress because it is going to be really hot (it's inside an old building). So I have a casual type "sundress". My question is about the shoes; can I wear canvas slip-on shoes (think Vans), or do I have to wear something "cuter" like a flat/skimmer? Flip-flops are not an option (my feet will get stepped on), and anything too dressy is not an option (going for casual and comfortable, here). Here's my dress (very simple, black with white stitching): http://www.torrid.com/torrid/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302024201&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442173609&bmUID=1213168808498 Here's my shoes I'd like to wear (they're so comfortable): http://store.alloy.com/item.do?categoryID=42&itemID=48351&sizeFilter=&colorFilter=&brandFilter= Or do I have to wear something like these (note: I don't own these shoes, just using as an example): http://www.payless.com/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?&TLC=Womens&SLC=WomensStory&BLC=WomensPromoFlats&Width=Regular&ItemCode=60023&LotNumber=062200&Type=Adult&Popularity=456&DescriptiveColor=Black Thanks for your input. I think the dress may appear "dressier" in the picture because the model is wearing a nice necklace and cute shoes with it. Trust me, I own it; it's not dressy at all. Thus why it's categorized as "casual". I'd rather not wear a nice pair of flats or espadrilles because of the event. Have you ever been to an hours-long show with a bunch of bands playing to a huge mosh-y crowd... that's a rhetorical question; I know the answer is no.
