Bridesmaids shoes - will it go with dress?

Hi. This is the dress my 2 bridesmaids are wearing, the dress is in Espresso and the sash in ivory: http://www.dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/2512/#attributeMask=131074&catid=1&displaytype=GridMedium&colorfamilylist=11&activePage=2&rpp=9&SortOrder=Default For their shoes I was thinking about some nice strappy heels, with maybe a few jewel type things on them and they will be in silver (that's one of my accent colours). This may give you an idea: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sexy-Silver-Gemstone-Strappy-Stiletto-Heel-Shoes-Sz-5-5_W0QQitemZ200217189317QQihZ010QQcategoryZ63889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/WOMENS-JEWEL-SILVER-SHOES-HEEL-SANDALS-LADIES-SIZE-3-36_W0QQitemZ180235548567QQihZ008QQcategoryZ63889QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em122 I am not getting them from eBay, probably just our local mall, I am just thinking about this type of style. Do you think this style of shoe will go well with their dresses? I have seen this shoe at a shop at the mall: http://www.williamstheshoemen.com.au/index.aspx?path=products/product&CTRL=PRODUCTDETAILS&cid=2&pid=82&page=1 Do you like it? And this one - but in silver: http://www.williamstheshoemen.com.au/index.aspx?path=products/product&CTRL=PRODUCTDETAILS&cid=2&pid=357&page=1 I don't think they want ivory because it is more a bridal colour than a bridesmaids one. They want silver. Winter spice, that is what I was thinking, may people won't see them so I just thought get something nice enough and that will be fine. Thanks for the advice everyone, look like I need to think about it a bit more and see if they don't mind ivory shoes. I just don't think they would wear those again, compared to silver is all but i will ask anyway. Michael, when it comes time to get their shoes, we are all going looking together. I think I have a right to have a bit of say in wht they get, I'm the bride afterall. Plus it's not like I am flat out choosing, I just want to steer them in the right direction. They don't mind at all either. Great ideas, thanks apbanpos

  1. Honestly yeah they will work but I would go more with an ivory shoe there wearable again
  2. I like the first shoe with the real simple strap across the toe. You don't want anything that will take away from the dress. have you thought about using an Espresso or ivory shoe?
  3. i really think the first one is the best choice because the 2nd one is a little to lavish for the dress the dress would look really nice w/ the 1st one because its not too over-the-top but the 3rd one looks too simple to go w/ the dress
  4. Personally, I don't like the silver shoes with the espresso dresses. I don't think they look right. Edit: I would go with a dark espresso shoe. Or, you can get an dyeable shoe (espresso or ivory) that they can redye another color after the wedding.
  5. The dress is floorlength so no one will even see the shoes. Chineselaundry.com has dress shoes available in brown.
  6. Actually, I would do an ivory strappy heel like the link on the very bottom.
  7. the shoes are a little over the top for the dresses i would almost go with flats... not everyone can do heels and some ceremony's are long....... your dress is espresso and ivory ---- do not use silver shoes!!!!! also stay away from black and white!!!!!!! get ivory shoes or espresso shoes or even gold or copper colored shoes brown and silver do not look very good together... in my eyes and my roommates agree with me on that.
  8. I think your approach is all wrong here, it's the standard thing for the bridesmaids to buy and select their own shoes to go with the dress, the only exception to this would be is if you or the individuals hosting the wedding have agreed to foot the bill for all the bridesmaids' shoes.
  9. Personally, I don't think that the silver will look right with an espresso dress. Also, the dresses are so long that noone is going to see their shoes unless they are sitting down. Maybe think of letting them get something themselves, or something that they could wear again. I'm just not sure about the silver and brownish colors together.
  10. I agree with either an ivory or a brown - or even copper, bronze, or dull gold. Silver will make a "Splash" when their shoes do peek out and not really match the dress. Ivory will also make a "splash" (that it, be noticeable) but it will match the dress And please please don't discount comfort. here, just as an idea of what I mean: these come in bronze, but accented with silver: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=151648&CategoryID=13614&LinkType=EverGreen http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=279728&CategoryID=13614&LinkType=EverGreen# Here's an ivory shoe that is nice: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=279728&CategoryID=13614&LinkType=EverGreen#
  11. I think the styles are really nice. BUT... I have to agree, I'd go with an espresso/ choc brown colour. Silver isn't going to match.
